Are you feeling hopeless today?

Jesus is the way the truth and the life. He gives hope to the hopeless. He gives sight to the blind. When we are blind in our addiction and lost in self-pity, Jesus calls us to come to Him to find rest.

At my lowest point, I had to surrender everything. I was ready to do whatever I needed to do to be healed and Jesus met me there. He allowed me a glimpse of His glory in a hotel bathroom. He reached down and healed me. Many times, I tried to kick heroin on my own and each time I was too weak. I couldn’t do it. If I had easy access to the drugs I would just give in and get more. I had to leave myself without a choice. It was do or die. The Lord met me in my weakest moment.

The Bible says to draw near to God and He will draw near to You. The first step is to draw near. He will never force us to do anything. God is always speaking, and His words are life-giving. They are the only words that have permanent results. It must be our choice.

He is calling to you right now. He wants to meet you where you are. Don’t think about your weaknesses. Don’t worry about what it will take. Surrender yourself to Him. Be vulnerable. Scream, curse, cry. Whatever it takes. Tell someone you trust. Be honest with them. Every detail. Don’t hold back. This is life or death. People are dying every day from overdoses. 269 people. Every day. Now go find a rehab, detox, or halfway house, and beg them to give you a bed. You need a safe place to clear your mind and begin the journey to recovery. It won’t be easy. There are many hurdles in life, but it is the most rewarding journey you will ever embark on. Jesus is calling you right now. Don’t wait. He will never leave you or forsake you. In Him, you will never be alone.

In Matthew 11:28, Jesus invites all those who are weary from the heavy burden they have been forced to carry to come to Him and find rest. Whenever you find yourself in these difficult situations, don’t hesitate to call out in the name of Jesus. With His help, you can get through anything. If you are feeling burdened and hopeless, with no way out, know that God wants to renew you. He desires to teach you how to live with hope. It’s important to remember that it’s okay to feel wounded or broken. Be kind to yourself. The more time you spend with Jesus the more His grace will empower you to achieve what He asks of you. Jesus is the only Way. Start by reading the verse of the day. There are resources on my website mikecinelli.com. Also, you can email me at [email protected], I am here to help.
